A slow start offensively hurt the Decorah girls basketball team (3-11, 1-5 NEIC) Tuesday night hosting Oelwein, as the Vikings fell to the Huskies (8-5, 2-4 NEIC) 46-52.

Both teams started strong in the first quarter, each scoring 11 points. However, in the second quarter the Vikings had several unforced turnovers. Decorah got into foul trouble early, sending the Huskies to the charity strip several times. That combined with the turnovers allowed Oelwein to build a 25-17 halftime lead.
