It was a big week of action as the Turkey Valley volleyball team (5-3, 2-0 UIC) defeated a conference rival and finished third at the Crestwood Tournament.
On their feet
It was a big night for the Trojans Thursday as TV took down North Fayette Valley 3-0 (25-18, 25-22, 25-19).
"It was an exciting night in the gym at Turkey Valley," said Coach Tammy Vrzak. "The girls played very well. It is so hard to highlight any of them tonight as they all played their hearts out. Our serving was outstanding, and it was amazing how much the girls are starting to gel into a smooth team."
As a team the Trojans had 29 kills, 81 attack attempts, 24 assists, 38 digs, 12 blocks and served 67-for-71 with four aces.
Individually, Arianna Rausch served 18-for-18, along with providing 13 digs. Johanna Blazek served 12-for-12, along with six kills and six digs. Kayla Schaufenbuel contributed 10 kills, 19 attack attempts, four block assists, two solo blocks and served 12-for-12. Allison Kuennen had five kills. Taylor Novotny added 11 assists while Ashley Kurash had nine assists and eight digs.
