Opening the season with four games in three nights, the Turkey Valley softball team (2-2, 2-0 UIC) won its two conference games.

Opening game
To start the 2014 campaign, the Trojans fell at Charles City (4-1) 4-5 Wednesday night.
Charles City scored a run in the first and second innings, then added two in the third to go up 4-0. The Trojans struck for four runs in the sixth, forcing the game into extra innings. However, the Comets scored one in the bottom of the eighth to get the win.
The Trojans had just five hits in the game. Chloe Reicks was 2-for-3 with a triple, three RBI and a run scored. Delaney Lensing had a double while Taylor Novotny and Sara Fischer each had one hit. Ashley Kurash had the other RBI.
Fischer took the loss. She gave up three earned runs.
