Although they held the visitors scoreless in the final quarter, it was too late as the Turkey Valley girls basketball team (2-5, 2-2 UIC) fell at home to New Hampton (3-3, 0-2 NEIC) 39-47.

The Trojans were outscored 16-9 in the first quarter. The teams combined to score just eight total in the second quarter, four apiece, to make it 20-13 Chickasaws at the half. It was an explosion of offense in the third quarter as they scored 47 total points. However, the Chickasaws extended their lead to 47-33 during that time.

"We showed some spurts of good basketball, just not enough of them," said Co-Coaches Dan Stepan and Carla Nymeyer.

The Trojans were led in scoring by Sadie Nymeyer. The freshman had 15 points, along with seven rebounds and two steals. Chloe Reicks had nine points and three rebounds. Taylor Novotny had seven points. Amanda Mueterthies had two blocks and two steals.
