The Turkey Valley boys basketball team (5-4, 4-3 UIC) got back on the winning side of things by defeating Riceville (2-8) 66-40 Thursday night.

Friday night's contest with Starmont was moved to Thursday, Jan. 30, due to icy conditions.

The Trojans got off to a good start Thursday, scoring 17 points in the first quarter and allowing just eight. By halftime it was 36-17.

"We got off to a quick start by being aggressive and forcing turnovers that led to easy baskets. The kids came out with a lot of energy and were getting every loose ball," said Coach Chris Sullivan.
