Looking to get a winning streak going, the Turkey Valley softball team (7-11, 2-4 UIC) picked up a win Tuesday night in non-conference action.
Earlier in the week the Trojans dropped two games to Sumner-Fred.
On the road
Facing the leader of the Upper Iowa Conference, the Trojans fell twice at Sumner-Fred (18-2, 10-0 UIC) Monday.
In the first game, the Trojans lost 3-10. Both teams put up a run in the first inning, with the Cougars adding one in the second and third. After TV answered with a run in the top of the fourth, the Cougars pounded the ball for three in the bottom half of the inning. Another TV run made it 6-3, but the Cougars scored four in the sixth.
TV had six hits. Emily Elsbernd was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Johanna Blazek, Olivia Reicks, Macey Winter and Jess Hansmeier had the other hits. Hansmeier took the loss.
In the second game, the Trojans fell 1-7. They scored their only run in the first inning.
There were just three TV hits. All with singles were Allie Njus, Winter and Chloe Reicks. Njus scored the only run.
Sara Fischer was the losing pitcher.
