The Turkey Valley baseball team (10-5, 6-2 UIC) had things rolling Tuesday night at home, defeating North Butler (2-6) 10-0 in five innings.
After getting one run in the first, the Trojans scored seven times in the third, including a three-run home run by Luke Kuennen to center field. They added two runs in the fifth to end the game early.
“We played pretty well in all three phases of the game,” said Coach Dan Stepan. “That is what I like about baseball. If you don’t like the results of a certain game, you generally have another one soon to get it rolling again.”
The Trojans had 10 hits in the game. They were led by Michael Novotny, who was 4-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI. Kuennen had two hits and four RBI. Ryan Busta, Kyle Reicks, Justin Izer and Justin Hackman had the other hits, all singles.
