The regular season came to an end for the Turkey Valley girls basketball team over the weekend, with the Trojans playing North Fayette Valley and Starmont.

The Trojans finished the season 12-9 overall and 8-3 in the UIC.

They open the postseason Thursday, Feb. 13, at home against Postville at 7 p.m. The winner moves on to face Dunkerton in the quarterfinals Tuesday, Feb. 18, at Dunkerton at 7 p.m.

Friday the Trojans just knocked off North Fayette Valley (4-14, 2-10 UIC) 48-44 on the road.

The Trojans outscored the TigerHawks 10-9 after the first quarter and took a 23-18 lead into halftime. The lead was extended by five in the third, making it 36-26. The TigerHawks cut into the lead in the fourth, but the Trojans held on.

"It was good to get back on track. The girls played real aggressive for the second game in a row. They also did a good job of handling the ball," said Co-Coaches Carla Nymeyer and Dan Stepan.

Amanda Mueterthies had 11 points and six rebounds while Shelby Reicks and Morgen Kuennen both had 10 points.
