After going ahead 6-0, the Turkey Valley football team (4-3, 4-1) fell behind and couldn't recover, falling to Class A No. 3 and defending state champion Wapsie Valley 21-6 Friday night in Jackson Junction.

The Trojans scored late in the first quarter when Jordan Denk turned a 3rd and 11 into a 26-yard gain. Luke Kuennen scored on the next play to make it 6-0.

Wapsie responded on their next possession to take a 7-6 lead. They scored again before halftime to go up 14-7.
