In a battle of the bats, the Crestwood Cadet softball team (10-3, 3-1 NEIC) came out on top Friday night, defeating Turkey Valley (3-4, 0-0 UIC) 14-11 in Jackson Junction.

Crestwood scored first, getting a run in the first. Now trailing 2-0, the Trojans tied the game in the bottom of the third. However, the Cadets put up five runs in the top of the fourth. The Trojans responded with four in the bottom half of the inning, to make it 7-6 Crestwood.

The visitors scored three runs in the fifth and in the sixth, while the Trojans responded with just two runs in the sixth. After Crestwood put up a run in the top of the seventh, Turkey Valley got three in the last half inning before the final out was recorded.
