A rough night defensively led to a loss Tuesday night for the Turkey Valley boys basketball team (6-10, 4-9 UIC) as the Trojans fell 31-70 on the road to Sumner-Fredericksburg (8-9, 5-6 UIC).

Turkey Valley struggled to stop the offense by the Cougars at the start of the game, going down 21-9 after one. They trailed 43-19 at the half and couldn't get back in the second half.

"Sumner got off to a quick start by knocking down some outside shots and that opened up the inside game for them as well. We had a hard time stopping them all night, and they were very active on defense and didn't let us get anything easy," said Coach Chris Sullivan. "Just like the last few games, we got off to a slow start and trailed by a large amount early, which forced us to change our game plan."
