In an overtime match in Elkader Friday, the Turkey Valley girls basketball team (2-2, 0-2 UIC) came up just two points short, falling 45-47.

The Trojans managed just two points in the extended frame.

"The girls played hard. We know we have some things to work on. We have had such a limited amount of time to get in everything we need to," said Co-Coaches Dan Stepan and Mike Kuennen. "The girls' attitudes have been outstanding."

Neither team was hot at the start of the game, scoring just a combined 13 points in the first quarter. At the first break, it was 7-6 Central. The Warriors pulled ahead in the second quarter, scoring 14 points to Turkey Valley's seven to lead 21-13 at the half.
