Trojans fall in close one

In the opening game of the season, the Turkey Valley baseball team (0-1) fell on the road to Riceville 2-1 Monday night.
The Wildcats scored their two runs in the second inning. After being set down in order in the first inning, the Wildcats broke through in the second. With one out, the Wildcats had back-to-back singles. The first run came on a wild pitch while the second came on a single.
The Trojans' lone run came in the fifth. Nic Schaufenbuel got things going with a lead-off single. He advanced to second on a walk by Ryan Busta. He scored on a bunt by Riley Busta. Kyle Reicks got to second in the sixth inning but couldn't advance any further.
The Trojans had three hits, with all singles by Jacob Hackman, Schaufenbuel and Ri. Busta
Ri. Busta took the loss on the mound. He went six innings, allowing seven hits and two earned runs while striking out three.
