The Turkey Valley girls basketball team (3-5, 2-4 UIC) proved it has what it takes to come back from a deficit and make it close.
However, the hole was too big Tuesday night as the Trojans fell at home to MFL (4-3, 4-2 UIC) 51-47.
MFL scored the first point of the game on a free throw. From there, the Trojans took hold, outscoring the Bulldogs 8-2 in the first period. However, it was the second frame that proved to be the difference maker. The Trojans again scored eight points. However, the Bulldogs were on fire, scorching the nets for 22 points to go into halftime leading 24-16.
