Despite putting up a good effort, the Turkey Valley baseball team (11-10, 5-4 UIC) fell in three contests to start this week.

Tough series
Four runs in the seven inning spelled trouble in the first game with Clayton Ridge-Central (17-3, 9-1 UIC) as the Trojans lost 6-1 at home Monday night.
Already up 2-1, the War Hawks scored four times in the sixth inning on an intentional walk, three errors and two singles.
“It was too bad we couldn’t get out of the top of the seventh inning. It was a well played game up to that point,” said Coach Dan Stepan.
The Trojan offense did string together eight hits. Michael Novotny had three of the hits, all singles. Ryan Busta provided two singles, as did Justin Hackman. With a double was Riley Busta. Hackman had the lone RBI.
Ry. Busta took the tough loss. He gave up one earned run on eight hits.
