Hosting one of the top teams in the league Monday, the Turkey Valley softball team (3-6, 0-2 UIC) kept it close with Clayton Ridge but couldn't come away with a win in either game.

In the first game, the Trojans fell 2-1. Clayton Ridge put up a run in the first and added an insurance run in the fifth. The Trojan's lone run came in the bottom of the seventh.

Macey Winter had the only hit. She had a solo home run in the seventh.

Jess Hansmeier took the tough loss. She scattered nine hits through seven innings.

In the second game, the Eagles again scored first and held on, winning 10-8. Clayton Ridge scored two in the top of the first, with the Trojans answering with one in the bottom half of the inning. The Eagles added two more in the second and four in the third, with TV putting up three in the third. With the score now 8-4, the Eagles scored one in the fourth, with TV answering with two in the bottom half of the inning. CR added one more run in the fifth. Turkey Valley scored two in the bottom of the sixth to make it a two-run game.
