It was anything but pretty Saturday night as the Turkey Valley boys basketball team (1-9, 1-8 UIC) took on Sumner-Fred (10-3, 8-1 UIC) at home as the Trojans lost to the Cougars 53-9.

The Trojans scored just two points in the first half, both coming in the first quarter, as they trailed 31-2 at the half. They added two in the third quarter and five in the fourth.

"We got outplayed from the get-go and didn't take care of the ball all night. Throughout the night we thought we got good looks at the basket but nobody could finish or make their open shots," said Coach Chris Sullivan. "After a game like this it will be interesting to see how the kids respond in practice. The ones that want to get better will continue to work hard and that's the kids we will be looking to play in our next game Tuesday night."
