The Turkey Valley girls golf team came up one place short of cracking the top two at the regional golf tournament Monday at Pleasant Valley Sports Club.

The Trojans shot a 442 to finish third in team standings. Valley, ranked No. 1 in Class 1A, won the meet with 357 strokes. Starmont also moved on after firing a 397.

"Coming in, I was realistically hoping for a fifth place team finish, and the girls easily surpassed that," said TV Coach John Reicks. "I was very happy with how things turned out team-wise."
