Two games in two days were tough for the Turkey Valley girls basketball team (4-10, 3-9 UIC) as the Trojans fell in both contests.
Hosting the second-place Upper Iowa Conference team Clayton Ridge (12-4, 10-2 UIC) Friday night, the Trojans struggled offensively, falling 49-40.
Clayton Ridge jumped out to a 15-9 lead after the first quarter. In the second, the Trojans limited the Eagle offense to just eight points. However, the Trojans could score just seven. At the half, they trailed 23-16.
TV managed just four points in the third quarter. However, the Eagles didn't fare much better, scoring seven to make it 30-20 with eight minutes to go. Both teams got hot in the final quarter, scoring a combined 39 points. Yet the Trojans were just able to cut into the Eagle lead by one.
