Getting on the course together, the Turkey Valley and South Winn girls and boys cross country teams competed at the Cresco Invite Saturday morning.
The Trojan boys team, ranked No. 7 in Class 1A, won the boys meet with 48 points, with South Winn a close second.
With standing water on the course, adjustments had to be made Saturday morning, with the course becoming longer than a 5K.
It was TV's Ryan Izer, ranked No. 20 in Class 1A, and SW's Nathan Meyer, who is also ranked, going neck and neck most of the way before R. Izer pulled away down the stretch to claim first in a personal meet best of 18:20. Steven Landa came in third overall, clocking in at 18:56. Nathan Suell cracked the top-10. The junior had a time of 19:47, good for sixth. Nick Meirick had a nice day on the course, taking 10th in 20:01. Nathan Herold rounded out the team score. He posted a time of 21:14 to take 28th in a personal meet best. Triston Mohlis and Tom Reicks also contributed to the varsity. Mohlis was 32nd in 21:28 while Reicks was 35th in 21:42, a personal meet best.
Dylan Bruess was the JV champion in 22:01.
