Decorah High School assistant varsity football coach Pat Trewin has been selected the 2013 Class 3A Assistant Football Coach of the Year by the Iowa Football Coaches Association. Trewin is one of two honorees for Class 3A.

Coach Trewin has been an assistant football coach at Decorah High School for 20 years. During this time, he has helped the football program earn 12 playoff appearances, 7 district titles, 5 state championship game appearances and a state title in 2012. During his 20 years at Decorah High School, Coach Trewin has been an assistant coach for the boys basketball and baseball programs.

Coach Trewin will recieve his award during halftime of the Class 3A State Championship football game in Cedar Falls on Thursday, November 21st and joins fellow Decorah assistant coach Joel Rollinger who was a 2007 recipient of the same award.
