It was a rough two-game stretch for the Decorah boys basketball team (7-10, 3-7 NEIC) as the Vikings lost to Class 3A No. 5 Waverly-Shell Rock and Caledonia (Minn.) over the weekend.

Friday the Vikes fell to the Go-Hawks (15-3, 7-2 NEIC) 51-67 at home.

"Our kids battled for 32 minutes, and we were proud of our effort for most of the game," said Coach Jonathan Carlson. "We had some big turnovers in the second quarter, which you can't do against a team like Waverly. We need to keep working through this tough stretch because it will prepare us well for the postseason."
