With the home crowd behind them, the Decorah volleyball team (2-0, 1-0 NEIC) battled back from 0-2 Tuesday night against Waukon (2-3-4, 0-1 NEIC), winning the final three games to grab their first Northeast Iowa Conference match 3-2.

Game scores were 23-25, 18-25, 25-20, 25-23, 15-10.

The Vikings fell behind early in the first game. Trailing 18-24, the Vikes got on a roll. Using the enthusiasm of a Hawaiian-clad student section, the Vikes rolled off five straight points to make it 23-24 before Waukon got the close win.

From there, the Vikes continued to build momentum.

"Very exciting match!" said Coach Dale Wilharm. "The first two sets we really couldn't consistently get anything going. We had some small runs, but nothing we could sustain after getting down in both sets. We really struggled offensively."
