Playing focused will be the key for the South Winn volleyball team in 2014.
With just three returning letter winners and a host of young hopefuls ready to wear the red and white, it will be up to the Warriors just how far they can go this season.
Putting the team together is Head Coach Darcy Einck. This is her first season being the solo head coach, after spending the past four campaigns as the co-coach with Robin Gossman. Assisting her this season are Glenna Munuswamy and Chris Streeter.

Small squad
The Warriors in 2013 had just 10 varsity players out; however, they made up for the numbers in talent. They bring back eight of those as returning letter winners.
The Warriors went through phases of wins and losses throughout the season, ultimately going 6-2 through the Upper Iowa Conference schedule.
At the UIC meet in Sumner, the Warriors went 2-1, defeating North Fayette Valley 2-0 and Starmont 2-1 and falling to Edgewood-Colesburg 1-2.
The season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs, with the Warriors falling to Sumner-Fred 0-3 (20-25, 5-25, 9-25).
South Winn ended the season 16-17 overall.
As a team, the Warriors served 1,479-for-1,614, for a .916 serving efficiency. In 86 sets, they produced 791 kills, along with 734 assists, 922 digs and 134 total blocks (34 solo, 100 assists).
