The Turkey Valley girls cross country team will be small but talented in 2014.
With four returning athletes, one more back from injury and two freshmen, the Trojans will need all seven harriers to step up and produced strong times meet in and meet out.
Putting the team together is Head Coach Timothy Kruckman, who has 13 years of experience.

Small squad
The Trojans of 2013 had four juniors and three freshmen comprising the squad. Despite the limited participants, each of the juniors was back with at least one year of high school experience.
Injuries slowed the Trojans down all season, with just one varsity runner remaining by the conference meet. Freshman Sadie Nymeyer came through by taking sixth at the UIC meet in 16:02.03, setting a season best. In the JV meet, Sloan Huinker, a freshman, finished 19th in 20:37.56 while Haley Klimesh took 22nd in 21:09.59.
The girls put together a team for the state qualifying meet. Nymeyer took 13th overall in 16:20, just missing a spot at the state meet. Huinker came in 73rd in 19:19, with Jenna Winter (102nd), Klimesh (111th) and Allie Rausch (119th) also running for a chance at state.
