It may have been a long night but it was a happy ride home from Lansing for the Turkey Valley volleyball team (1-1, 1-0 UIC) as the Trojans defeated Lansing (1-2, 0-1 UIC) 3-0.
The Trojans won by scores of 25-20, 25-12, 25-13.
"The girls played good. We are starting to come together as a team," said Coach Tammy Vrzak.
The Trojans served 66-for-70 with seven aces. They also had 32 kills, 84 attack attempts, 23 assists, 28 digs and six total blocks.
Kuennen was big at the net. She had 10 kills and 22 attack attempts. Kayla Schaufenbuel produced six kills, 12 attack attempts, three total blocks and served 7-for-7. Ashley Kurash led the way in assists with 12. Arianna Rausch added 12 digs and served 14-for-15 with two digs. Kennedy Balk served 20-for-21 with two aces.
"Allison Kuennen had a good night in the middle as well as Arianna Rausch digging in the back row," said Vrzak. "Our serving is really on right now and should only get better."
The Trojans hosted Clayton Ridge Monday. They hosts North Fayette Valley Thursday, Sept. 12, at 7:30 p.m.
