A 28-point first quarter effort propelled the Turkey Valley football team (1-0) to a 54-12 victory over Rockford (0-1) Friday night in the first eight-man football game in Trojan history.
Turkey Valley made the decision to move to eight-man football due to enrollment numbers.

Fast start
After stopping Rockford on its first possession, Turkey Valley took over, scoring not even four mintues into the game on a Justin Hackman 1-yard run.
On Rockford’s next possession, the defense again stepped up, forcing a fumble that was recovered by Justin Kime. On the first play of the drive, Wyatt Blazek took it for the score. J. Hackman converted the two-point try to make it 14-0 with 7:21 left in the first.
