Going on the road Tuesday, the Turkey Valley volleyball team (9-8, 5-2 UIC) defeated Clayton Ridge 3-0.
The team had 28 kills, 83 attack attempts, 23 assists, 38 digs, seven total blocks and served 68-for-75 with five aces.
Allie Njus led the way at the net with seven kills, 22 attack attempts and added eight digs. Emily Elsbernd contributed 13 assists, four digs and served 23-for-24 with two aces. Johanna Blazek added seven kills, 11 attack attempts, 12 digs, one assisted block and served 21-for-22 with two aces. Allison Kuennen made three assisted blocks, along with six kills and 17 attack attempts.
Kalyn Kruse served 11-for-12 and added 10 digs. Kayla Schaufenbuel had a solo block while Taylor Novotny and Amanda Mueterthies both had a block assist.
"The girls looked good. They came together and played great. Our offense was on and as always the serving moved the game right along," said TV Coach Tammy Vrzak. "Allie Njus and Johanna Blazek stepped up with their hitting tonight."
The Trojans host Central today, Thursday, Oct. 4, with the varsity beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, they host MFL and close out the regular season at home against Kee Thursday, Oct. 11.
