With a full roster out for the Turkey Valley boys cross country team, the Trojans, ranked No. 7 in Class 1A, came out all cylinders firing Thursday at Sumner-Fred, winning the team title with 32 points. Crestwood came in second with 47 points.
The girls team had just three runners available Thursday to run due to injuries.
"Sumner-Fredericksburg officials changed the boys' course for this annual meet. In doing so, they may have mistakenly lengthened the race as all of the finishing times for boys were at least 90 seconds too slow for a 5K," said Coach Timothy Kruckman. "Also, there were several scoring errors in the boys' results. Still, it was a nice opportunity for all 10 of our boys to finally be in a race together."
