The Turkey Valley baseball team (15-14, 8-7 UIC) picked up two wins last week in conference action.

Wednesday the Trojans traveled to Sumner-Fred (8-16, 6-8 UIC) to take on the Cougars.
Game one, the Trojans lost 6-2. Turkey Valley got on the board with a run in the first, but the Cougars answered with two in the bottom half of the inning. The Cougars extended the lead in the fifth.
Turkey Valley had six hits, all singles by Riley Meirick, Michael Novotny, Luke Kuennen, Riley Busta, Justin Hackman and Ryan Izer.
Ryan Busta took the loss, going the first five innings. Hackman completed the game.
For the second time during the season, it was Justin Izer’s pitching that proved the difference with the Trojans winning 11-0.
Izer went all five innings, striking out two and walking one.
“That is Justin’s second no-hitter of the year,” said Coach Dan Stepan. “The kid just knows how to pitch. We also gave him good run support.”
That support came early and often, with the Trojans scoring three runs in the first and third, one in the fourth and four in the fifth.
Again there were six hits. Novotny had the only extra-base hit. Meirick, Ry. Busta, Kyle Reicks, Kuennen and Ri. Busta all had a single.
