Winter weather couldn't keep the Decorah boys swim team from competing at the Waterloo East meet Thursday evening.

Decorah knocked off Waterloo East 116 to 52 and Vinton-Shellsburg 114-21.

Decorah's JV team also put up 59 points.

Decorah had several first place finishes. Will Yahr won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:14.53. Jerod Heying was the champion in the 50-yard freestyle in 23.22 seconds. He also won the 100-yard backstroke in 1:02.28.

Nolan Heffern took the gold medal in the 100 fly in 1:02.75. In 53.66 seconds, Mac Faldet won the 100-yard freestyle.
