It was a big win in the pool for the Decorah swim team last week.

Thursday the Vikings traveled to Waterloo East to swim against East and Vinton-Shellsburg.

The Vikes defeated both teams, taking down Waterloo East 128-32 and Vinton-Shellsburg 127-37.

Decocah won nine of the 11 varsity events, including all three relays. To start the meet, Decorah swimmers Jerod Heying, Cole Svestka, Kody Miller and Isaac Sauer finished first in the 200 medley relay in 1:57.53, the only group under two minutes. In the 200-yard freestyle relay, Svestka, Mac Faldet, Heying and Dalton Matt combined in 1:38.58 to win the event.

In the 400-yard freestyle relay, Sauer, Heying, Matt and Faldet finished in 3:45.67, the only quartet under four minutes.
