Although they have a large group of seniors, six returning letter winners and a host of newcomers ready to make their mark in a Warriors uniform, it will come down to who can improve steadily through the season.
Coaching this season are Kevin Kearney and Scott Conway. Kearney has 20 years experience at South Winn while Conway has over 20 years overall in his career.
Starting the season ranked, the Warriors returned five of their top seven runners from the season before. Consistently posting strong times during the regular season, the Warriors saw their efforts pay off in the final two meets of the season. They finished third at the conference meet, posting 73 points. Two harriers finished in the top-15, with sophomore Jessica Lechtenberg taking seventh in a season best and senior Lindsey Buddenberg 15th in a season best time.
A week later, the girls took fifth at the state qualifying meet, concluding the year. Lechtenberg posted the top spot for the team, finishing 14th.
With the end of the season saw the graduation of Buddenberg (23rd at state qualifying meet), Kirsten Wenthold (23rd at UIC, 35th at state qualifying meet), Domenic Boe (31st at state qualifying meet), Eleanor Lofte (fifth at UIC meet) and Miranda Fisher.
