It’s a matter of putting it all together when it counts.
The Turkey Valley softball team is looking to do just that this season.
Leading the way is Head Coach Mark Scott. He has been with the team for six years.
In 2013, the Trojans had seven seniors with letters back and nearly a fully-intact squad.
The Trojans finished the conference season 9-9 and the regular season 14-16. They tangled with Riceville in the first round of regional action. Unfortunately for the home team, the Trojans fell 12-10, with Riceville scoring three times in the seventh inning. The Trojans ended the season 14-17.
As a team, the Trojans hit .289 with a .358 on-base percentage. They had a .417 slugging average. The Trojans scored 207 runs on 261 hits. They produced 50 doubles, nine triples and 16 home runs, along with 162 RBI.
The pitching staff had a 3.20 ERA in 201 innings.
