The Turkey Valley boys basketball team (4-4, 4-3 UIC) dropped the first two games of the 2014 season.

Friday night

Hosting MFL (6-0, 4-0 UIC) to start the 2014 portion of the season, the Trojans fell to the Bulldogs 47-65.

The Trojans started the game full of energy to lead 10-7 after the first eight minutes. It was back and forth in the second frame before turnovers began to plague the Trojans, giving MFL a 23-16 lead. During that frame, the Trojans shot just 1-of-7 from the free throw line.

In the third, things began to fall apart for the Trojans as MFL got hot, going up 47-31 with eight minutes remaining.

"We thought the kids played hard throughout the game, but in the third quarter we were a step slow and were giving them too many clean looks from three. Also, we gave up way too many second chance points, and versus a team of that caliber, you can't do that," said Coach Chris Sullivan.
