Trying to get back into the groove, the Turkey Valley girls basketball team (4-6, 3-5 UIC) opened up the 2013 portion of the season Friday at home, falling to Clayton Ridge 37-53.

The Trojans took a 17-10 lead to open the game; however, in the second quarter, the team managed just seven points while the Eagles went into the locker room leading 26-24. It was another quiet quarter in the third as the Trojans scored six points to trail 42-30. They were outscored by four in the fourth quarter.

Two players were in double figures for the Trojans. Allie Njus had 10 points, to go with three steals. Johanna Blazek also had 10 points. Olivia Reicks added six points, along with six rebounds, three assists and four steals. Macey Winter had five rebounds and four steals while Chloe Reicks had four rebounds.
