The Decorah boys track team got a chance to size up area competition Friday, competing at the Waverly-Shell Rock Dave Sage Relays.
The Vikings finished second in team standings with 124 points. Waverly-Shell Rock took second with 184.5 points.
In total, Decorah had one event take first. Cole Svestka was the champion in the 400-meter dash. The senior had a time of 52.81 seconds.
Three events took second. Svestka was the silver medalist in the 200-meter run, posting a time of 23.62 seconds.
Isaac Luzum, Collin Nimrod, Bryce Hosting and Garret Hemesath clocked in at 8:41.82 in the 4x800 relay. In 3:52.62, Sam Johnson, Aaron Syverson, Andy Strand and Luzum were second in the distance medley.
