It was the end of the season for the Decorah girls tennis team Thursday as the Vikes hosted the regional singles and doubles tournament at Luther College.

The Vikes failed to qualify an individual for the state tournament.



Doubles action

Brianna Carolan and Maddie Grimm made a run at qualifying for state. First they defeated Anna Levad and Julie Plagge of Hampton-Dumont 6-0, 6-0. In the next round, it was an amazing show of display as the Vikes knocked off No. 1 seed Carley Overson and Jenna Peterson of Clear Lake 7-5, 6-3. In the semifinals, the dream day came to an end as the Vikes were forced to withdraw from the competition due to an injury.
