South Winn's Trevor Schweinefus will be golfing with some of the best this weekend.

Schweinefus, a junior for the South Winn boys golf team, has advanced to the Class 2A state tournament for the first time in his career.

The Class 2A state meet is Friday and Saturday, May 24-25, at Spring Valley Golf Course in Livermore.

Schweinefus advanced after last Friday's district meet, held at Foxridge Golf Course in Dike. The top four individuals from the Dike district earned a bid to state.

Schweinefus shot a 74, with two birdies, four boogies and 12 pars to tie for third. The low score went to two linksters who shot 73.

"Trevor played a very solid round. He played very smart, knowing he had to play well to advance onto state. He had some tough competition," said SW Co-Coaches Paul Jungblut and Doug Schweinefus. "We are very excited to have a Warrior represent our school."
