South Winn senior Trevor Schweinefus has been named to the Iowa Basketball Coaches Association Academic All-State team.
The Association represents over 3,300 members in nearly 94 percent of high schools in Iowa. To be nominated for selections, a player must have at least a 25 ACT composite, rank in the top 25 percent of their senior class and have a grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale. Nominations come from member head coaches.
Schweinefus was named first team all-Upper Iowa Conference for the second year in a row. He averaged 21.7 points per game, the second most in the conference. He hit 50.1 percent of his shots and was 75.4 percent from the free-throw line. He averaged 4.4 rebounds a game while providing 33 total assists, 12 blocks and a team-high 59 steals.
