The Trojans secured 116.5 points to edge AGWSR’s 100.5 points.
In addition, the girls qualified eight events to the state meet while the boys will have five running at state.
The state meet is Thursday through Saturday, May 22-24, at Drake Stadium in Des Moines.
In Class 1A, the top performance in each event at all sites throughout the state automatically qualifies for the state meet. The next 12 best times/distances from across the state also advance to the state meet. In total, there are 24 entries per event.
For the girls
Shelby Reicks qualified in two events. The freshman was the champion in the 400-meter dash by posting a time of 1:03.50. She is seeded 14th. S. Reicks will also compete in the 800-meter run after taking second in the event in 2:26.58. She is seeded fifth.
Teammate Kirsten Huinker will join S. Reicks in the 400-meter. Huinker was the silver medalist in 1:04.95. She is seeded 21st.
