It was a big win for the South Winn boys basketball team (7-6, 6-4 UIC) Tuesday night at home as the Warriors defeated North Fayette (4-11, 4-7 UIC) 63-37.
The Warrior defense was big. In the first quarter, the offense stepped up, scoring 18 points while SW took an 18-7 lead. In the second, the defense continued to limit the Hawks while the Warriors extended its lead. At the half it was 35-16. The Warriors scored 28 points in the second half while holding North Fayette to 20.
Three Warriors were in double figures scoring. Trevor Schweinefus had 22 points, along with seven rebounds. Adam Lensing put up 13 points while Jordan Rommes had 11 points, four rebounds and three steals.
