Two members of the South Winn baseball team were named all-district by the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association.
Sophomore Jordan Rommes was named the Class 2A first team second baseman while junior Trevor Schweienfus was named second team pitcher. It was the second honor for Rommes and first for Schweienfus.
Rommes, a two-time UIC honoree after being named second team in 2012, was second in Class 2A with 48 RBIs. He was second in the conference for every day players with a .500 batting average, .549 on-base percentage and .775 slugging clip. He had 16 doubles and 33 runs scored. On the mound he went 7-2 with a 3.57 ERA.
Schweinefus was named first team all-UIC. On the mound he went 5-3 in eight starts. He threw 54 innings and compiled a 1.94 ERA, with 35 strikeouts. At the plate he his.297 with 16 RBIs and 15 runs scored.
