The South Winn girls and boys golf teams got to see lots of competition in two days to end the week, with both teams putting up strong numbers to win.

Thursday the Warriors traveled to Fayette to take on West Central at Big Rock Country Club.
The girls shot a 196. West Central didn’t have a team score.
Megan Hageman was the medalist, shooting a career-low 42. Runner-up honors went to Megan Elsbernd with a 50.
Megan Bushman carded a 51 while Skyler Luzum had a 53. Other scores were Jamie Elsbernd, 53; Caitlin Holien, 57; Christina Wagner, 62; and Bailey Timp, 64.
The boys won the meet with a 154 to West Central’s 180.
Trevor Schweinefus was the medalist with a 35 while Logan Schweinefus shot a 36 to take the runner-up spot.
Other varsity scores were Tanner Kuennen, 38; Jerod Heying, 45; Nathan Winter, 45; and Blake Kuennen, 48.
The JV also won, 210 to 240. JV scores were: Anthony Emanuel, 46; Brendan Hageman, 54; Hunter Leibold, 54; Darrik Poshusta, 56; Alex Kuennen, 56; and Alec Quandahl 62.
“We are very happy with how the teams are playing in such severe weather conditions. We are looking to continue to improve our scoring average as we get closer to conference and first round of tournament play,” said Co-Coaches Paul Jungblut and Doug Schweinefus. “We are very pleased with how Trevor, Logan, Tanner and Nathan are challenging each other for the top spots and how Megan Hageman played today. It’s nice to see Skyler Luzum and Jamie Elsbernd continue to lower their scores each meet. Our senior girls all have the game to score in the 40’s.”
