The snow flurries Friday couldn't stop the South Winn boys and girls golf teams as the Warriors took to the course against MFL.

The varsity girls knocked off the Bulldogs 222 to 294 Friday at Silver Springs while the boys also won 170 to 205.

In the girls game, Megan Hageman was the medalist, carding a 51 for the Warriors. Megan Bushman took the runner-up spot with a 53. Also scoring for the varsity were Miranda Fisher with a 58 and Eleanor Lofte carding a 60. Caitlin Holien, 65, and Megan Elsbernd, 67, also played for the varsity.

The JV golf members also got out on the greens Friday, despite MFL not having a JV team. Touring the course for SW were Andrea Zweibahmer, 65; Megan Moudry, 69; Jamie Elsbernd, 69; Kelsey Hageman, 71; Jordan Reisner, 72; and Christina Wagner, 73.

In the boys game, Logan Schweinefus took home his second medal of the season, posting a 41. MFL's Corbin Montgomery was the medalist runner-up with a 41 on the card back.

Trevor Schweinefus, Tanner Mashek and Tanner Kuennen all finished with 43s. Also playing for the varsity were Quintin Taylor, 45; and Lars Warth, 50.

Playing for the JV team were Blaine Woodson, 49; Hunter Leibold, 49; Blake Kuennen, 49; Darrik Poshusta, 50; Anthony Emanuel, 50; and Brendan Hageman, 51.

The Warriors have four meets this week. They hosted Turkey Valley Monday. Today, Tuesday, April 23, they are at Postville at 4 p.m. Thursday it's off to Valley for a meet at 4 p.m., with Friday at North Fayette at 4 p.m.
