With just three games remaining in the regular season, the South Winn girls basketball team (12-6, 11-4 UIC) picked up two wins, running its win streak to seven games in a row.

The Warriors took care of North Fayette Valley 42-22 Thursday and 64-14 over Starmont Friday.



Conference

A big third quarter was the difference in Thursday's UIC game as the Warriors took care of the TigerHawks (4-13, 2-9 UIC) 42-22.

The TigerHawks led 9-6 after the first quarter. The Warrior defense came back in the second quarter, holding the TigerHawks to just two points to lead 15-11 at halftime. South Winn scored 20 points in the third frame, while the defense gave up just four points.

Payton Poshusta scored 17 points, along with six rebounds. Abby Phillips put up seven points and eight rebounds while Micole Lansing and Brittany Shindelar both had six points. Lansing also had seven assists and six steals.
