The South Winn volleyball team (17-12, 7-3 UIC) closed out the regular season with style Tuesday night, defeating Postville 3-0.
The Warriors won by scores of 25-12, 25-9 and 25-8.
"We played very strong and consistent all 25 points, for three sets, which we have had a hard time doing this year," said Co-Coaches Darcy Einck and Robin Gossman. "Our defense has been playing very well, allowing us to generate a quicker offense.
"Our team is definitely playing its best ball now at the end of the regular season and heading into the postseason."
The Warriors currently sit in fourth place in the conference. Some teams still have a game remaining.
The Warriors had 33 kills, 74 attack attempts, 29 assists, 21 digs and made three blocks.
Kari Zidlicky had all three solo blocks, along with five kills and nine attack attempts. Jenn Panos was dynamite at the net with 10 kills and 12 attack attempts. Brittany Shindelar had six kills and 15 attack attempts.
Becca Franzen led the way with six kills, 12 attack attempts and 16 assists. Jessica Lensing added nine assists. Morgan Kuennen contributed six digs while Courtney Humpal and Micole Lansing both had four.
The Warriors open the postseason Wednesday, Oct. 17, at home against MFL, beginning at 7 p.m.
