It was a good three days of experience for the South Winn boys and girls track teams, highlighted by a the boys team picking up points in two events.
In total, the boys finished with three points. Four girls also took to the track for five total events.
Senior Austin Breitsprecher secured two points for the Warriors in the discus. Breitsprecher threw 154 feet, 4 inches in the first round of the discus, advancing to the finals. That proved to be his best throw as he took seventh overall.
One relay placed in the top eight to move to the finals. Running in the second heat of the 4x100 prelims Friday night, Jared Schroeder, Jordan Rommes, Alex Shatek and Colton Hageman finished third in their heat and seventh overall in 44.43, a new school record. Running in the heat of Saturday afternoon, the quartet finished eighth in 45.08, just missing seventh by 0.02 seconds. Last year the Warriors missing making the finals in this event, taking 11th.
