Following a three-day delay, the Decorah girls golf team opened the season Thursday at Charles City.
The varsity shot a 242, with Charles City winning the meet with a 189. Medalist of the meet was Megan Joerger of the Comets, who shot a 42. Last year she was the third-place finisher at the state meet.
The Viking varsity was led by Courtney Robinson with a 56. Mary Murphy shot a 58, with Melanie Gossman a 63 and Ashley Gulrud a 65. Also playing for the varsity were Alison Schwartzhoff, 67, and Augusta Casteron, 75.
