In the final regular season game of the year, the Decorah volleyball team (11-24, 3-3 NEIC) fell to Union (29-7) 0-3.
The Vikes lost by scores of 23-25, 17-25 and 16-25.
"We played better at times Tuesday night but didn't put enough runs together or enough consistency to be able to put any real pressure on them," said Coach Dale Wilharm.
The Vikings served 44-of-50. In addition, they had 25 digs, 10 total blocks, 23 assists, 24 kills and 62 kill attempts.
Individually, Tess Olinger led the way with seven kills and 22 kill attempts. Kayla Ingvalson had five kills and 12 kill attempts. Molly Wettach added five kills and 13 attack attempts. Tori Hartman had 20 of the 23 assists. Alexis Hove put up seven digs while Hartman had six and Lindsay Smith three. Kaitlyn Kregel and Wettach both had two assisted blocks and a solo block while Ingvalson had two assisted stops.
At the service line, Hove was 8-for-9, Hartman was 7-for-8 and Wettach was 10-for-11.
In addition to it being the last home game of the year, it was also senior night. The Vikes honored Hartman, Ingvalson, Wettach, Anna Madrigal and Alison Stover.
The Vikes go to Manchester to face West Delaware (28-11) at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, in the first round of regional play. The winner faces Vinton-Shellsburg (11-23) Thursday, Oct. 25, at Manchester.
